Victor Shongwe affectionately known as Dj Vitoto rather Mr. Uppercuts is a multi-talented instrumentalist and Afro-tech Disk jockey from Mabopane Pretoria, South Africa.

The follow up was a track he did with Mo Sliq tilted Happiness published by Delasol Records a deep house feel good track which was remixed by many a DJ doing its rounds in clubs and radio stations.

This album definitely feels like the mother of Afrotech though not sounding exactly what Afrotech is now, the melodic instruments and vocals, a classic example being the track ‘summer rays’ with the beautiful voice of Royalty and the saxophone by Ike Saxy.
At the time The inner me would have been referred to as a deep house album but a good ear can tell how this good indigenous music later morphed into the now popular genre of Afrotech with Dj Vitoto as a pioneer. “The inner me” did well on the chats with radio stations playing the tracks non-stop, parties, weddings where consumed by the deep soulful sound and love topics being covered by amazing vocals.
The following year Vitoto gave us his breakout hit “OMG’ which is unapologetically Afrotech with minimal lyrics just beautifully composed electric sounds and tribal house, OMG was and still is an international club hit gracing many a festival and house music events across the globe stamping Dj Vitoto as a veteran house music Dj. International radio stations
such as Drums Radio in the United Kingdom could not keep away from this track, with influence spreading as far into Europe and even Asia.
As 2018 progressed He continued to release bangers "Hands in the Air" With Grethah , and "Slamming Uppercuts". with DJ Shimza .
The Following Year (2019) he joined Muthaland Entertainment, giving us the popular hit Single With Moonchild Sanelly "Online". The song is simple and very relatable to many a party animal, the experience of waking up next to an ugly stranger and making sure that nobody ever finds out is the story of everybody’s life ,Moonchild goes as far as saying I’d rather have you sign a non-disclosure making sure that nobody ever knows you slept with me, he followed up with a Single "Gimmie Luv" With Onesimus which is also a must listen for any house music and Afrotech ear.
He then did an EP with the Monocles titled Rare sound with features from Mace Villason,Gaba Canal,Visca,Authentic Souls and Muzari, a more calmer project than his 2020 follow up, M.O.A (meaning of afro) which is strictly Afrotech finding a slot for the hit track with moonchild just to spice it up, though the stand out song is “Storyteller” a precise portrayal of Dj Vitoto’s style of production.
“Kemete” was The next single that made it on the Charts. The Single Featured one of South Africa's Biggest Duo Black Motion with Idd Aziz On the vocals.
His latest effort is the exhilarating Afronation EP released on the 8th of July 2022,with amazing songs such as the popular “Umthwalo” featuring Sun El Musician and Simmy, Sun El and Vitoto’s production coupled with euphonious vocals from Simmy make this track a South African House music masterpiece and the rest of the EP is equally mesmerizing.
