047

047 is the area code for Mthatha in Eastern Cape South Africa, and the name of a three piece boy band from that particular area ,such homage and patriotism from the members: Ncgali Nundu, Lihle Baleni and Sihle Mdaga  who then relocated  to Johannesburg after they were discovered by Vusi Nova and signed to Muthaland Entertainment.

The group has since composed a number of Afro pop love song classics, with one album under their belt “Wen’ungowam” (21st of May 2018) giving us songs like “wen’ungowami blowing up into a national wedding anthem with the music video racking in 1.7million views on YouTube , a portrayal of a wedding where the groom becomes even more emotional than the bride breaking into tears at the sight of his love ,the album also features Vusi Nova and Bongani Radebe on the tracks “Ubuhle” and “Askies” respectively, the whole album has non stop love classics that deal with both joy and heartbreak in languages isiXhosa and English.

047 has also given us chart topping singles such as “Akasemhle” featuring Vusi Nova which gives praise and adoration to a bride on her wedding day, the music video to this song has gone up to 132k views on YouTube.

The guys got together in 2013 after meeting at a talent show, Ngqali and Lihle were in a group and Sihle was in another group also competing at the event ,a situation where they ended up locked in a hall found them singing together and created a solid friendship that then developed into 047.

They recorded demos together and through a mutual friend , one of their demos ended up in the ear of Afropop star Vusi Nova who loved what he heard and put them under his wing and has been a brotherly figure to the group since then. He even featured on one of their earliest breakout hit releases “ubuhle” which has racked in almost 4million views on YouTube and 317k streams on Spotify not to mention other platforms, receiving airplay on every radio and TV station in the country.
