NTANDO
Ntando Bangani is a South African afro-pop soul singer and businessman popularly known to his fans simply as Ntando. The successful singer is widely known in South Africa for his afrocentric style of music, racking up several awards along the way. He even has albums that have now attained the coveted platinum sales.
Ntando started music in 2005. His afro traditional sound and vocal technique made waves across the country and globally, sharing stages with the likes of Ringo Madlingozi and many more. Ntando carries a heavy weight title of delivering 10 albums, with a number of awards under his belt from platinum selling album “Kwantu” which was released in 2006. Ntando then took a break from the record label scene to establish BornFire Records and define his path.
In 2017, he made a comeback and teamed up with Muthaland Records where he was nominated for a SAMA award in 2018 under the category Best Afro Pop for the album “Mayibuye”. This was then followed by the 2019 album “NONO” featuring the remake of the afro traditional people anthem “NONO”, the hit single that reached audiences of up to +/- 12 million views collectively on Youtube alone.
2020 had Ntando in studio working on his latest masterpiece “Camagu” which means “to be grateful” or “Gratitude”, which was released in 2021. The album includes the hit single NQONQO; a song that inspires hope and lifts up the nation's spirit at a time when many due to the pandemic have lost jobs and hope. The album also includes the feel good song “Happy Place”- every person has their happy place and this song certainly takes us there.
